Biography
Dr. Tirotta has been an active member of Miami Children’s Hospital medical staff since 1991, practicing with the Department of Anesthesiology; he has served as the Director of Cardiac Anesthesia since 2002. He has served as Chief of the Department of Anesthesia since July 2017. He also has a clinical appointment with the Department of Anesthesiology at The University of Miami School of Medicine Dr. Tirotta received his BA from Cornell University in 1982 and his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1986. He also received an MBA degree from Columbia University in 1999. Dr. Tirotta completed his internship in Internal Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook in 1987. He completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1990; he subspecialized in pediatric and cardiovascular anesthesia, including heart transplantation. In 1994, Dr. Tirotta created and produced the widely acclaimed pre-operative educational video titled, “A Hospital Trip with Dr. Bipâ€. This program, narrated by the endearing animated character Dr. Bip, explains to young children what to expect when they go to the hospital for surgery. It also includes coloring books and stickers. This program was exhibited at numerous national medical conventions and has sold thousands of copies all over the English-speaking world. Dr. Tirotta is a member of numerous professional societies and has served on a number of hospital committees, including the Heart Program Executive Committee. He previously served as the Co-Chair of the Miami Children’s Hospital Physician Hospital Organization. He is also responsible for giving numerous medical lectures nationally and internationally and is actively engaged in clinical research. He has been the Principal Investigator on a number of clinical drug/device trials, including on the ONQ Pain Buster, the muscle relaxant Zemuron, the procoagulant RiaSTAP, the Cardiotronic NICOM device and the ClearLine. He will also be the Principal Investiagator in Merck’s Sugammadex pediatric trial and Pacira Pharmaceuticals pediatric Exparel trial. Dr. Tirotta was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 1982, was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma in 1999, graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University and was the recipient of the Robert D. Dripps Memorial Award for the outstanding graduate resident in anesthesiology in 1990. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology, is sub-specialty certified in Pediatric Anesthesia and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Florida and New York.

Biography
Marco Picichè (MD, Ph.D.) graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Florence in 1995 and completed his cardiac surgery residency at the Tor Vergata University of Rome in 2000, both summa cum laude. He held regular teaching appointments at the university of Montpellier school of medicine, obtained certification by the French Board in cardiac surgery (Paris, 2007), earned his research master in surgical science (Paris, 2007), and received a university diploma in vascular surgery (Paris, 2007). In Canada he authored a research project on the occlusion of the internal mammary arteries as an alternative method of myocardial blood supply (2008, Laval University). In May 2009 he had the honor of opening the 44th Congress of the European Society for Surgical Research with a lecture on ‘‘The history of surgical research.’’ In September 2011 he received a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in therapeutic innovations from Paris-Sud University. He is the Editor in Chief of the book : « Dawn and evolution of cardiac procedures : research avenues in cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology » (Springer-Verlag publishing house, September 2012). He patented a new surgical instrument. Currently he is a cardiac surgeon in Italy.

Biography
Dr. M Reza Movahed received his MD from Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Germany. He completed his medical residency at the University Of Rochester, New York and his cardiology training at the University of South Caroline, Columbia. His final training in interventional cardiology was completed at Yale University Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut in 2000. After his training, he joined University of California Irvine as Assistant Clinical Professor and later joined University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2006 as Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. In July 2010, Dr. Movahed was promoted to Professor of Medicine, Tenure at the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine due to his excellent clinical work, teaching, service and research with over 200 peer reviewed publications. He has been Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Nuclear Cardiology at the University of California, Irvine medical Center and Director of Coronary Care Unit and Medical Director of Cardiac Transplantation at the University of Arizona Medical Center. In 2007, he joined the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System for his clinical work and as the Medical Director of Heart Transplantation. In May 2012, he joined caremore as The Regional Cardiology Director of caremore in Arizona while keeping his teaching and research affiliation with the VA and the University of Arizona as Professor of Medicine, tenure. His major area of research is related to coronary intervention, non-invasive cardiology and cardiovascular epidemiology. He is world-renowned for his coronary bifurcation classification known as “The Movahed Classification†He is also known for his discovery on the flattening of interventricular septum as a sign for right ventricular overload the so called “ Movahed’s sign†that can be seen during Gated SPECT studied and recently published reverse “Movahed Maneuver†that can be used for improvement of stent deliverability during difficult and tortuous vein graft interventions. He also has two cardiovascular patents issued to him. One is a device for removal of contrast from coronary sinus during coronary angiography or intervention in order to reduce contrast exposure to kidneys for prevention of contrast induced nephropathy. The other one is a method and device that can measure cross sectional lumen of a vessel using impedance sensors. His publications include prestige’s journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Reviews, Circulation, American Journal of Medicine, Journal of American College of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Society of Echocardiography, JACC cardiovascular Intervention, JACC Imaging, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Intervention, Journal of Invasive cardiology, Journal of Interventional Cardiology, etc. He is an editorial board member of numerous peer reviewed journals. He has been invited speaker and chair for many national and international cardiology conventions and conferences. He has been Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and Echocardiography and currently certified in cardiovascular disease, Advanced Heart failure/Transplantation, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Hallak is currently Chief of Interventional Cardiology Department at American Hospital Dubai, President (gulf Chapter) of international Society of Endovascular Specialists, Chairman of 4TS international conference, and previous Board Member of Emirate Cardiac Society. Dr. Hallak received his post graduate training and research in United States at University of Illinois, Chicago, North Western University and Louisiana University in New Orleans. He is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Vascular Medicine, Endovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He was the Head of Cardiology Department at Saint Francis Hospital in USA, and assistant Professor at LSU New Orleans and University of West Virginia. He has performed thousands of procedures including Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular Intervention in addition to Pacemaker and ICD/ CRT Implantation. He participated in many national and international research studies with many publications. He involved extensively in local, regional and international cardiology conferences as a Speaker and as a Chairman.

Elkilany received his BSc [1987] and MSc degrees [1991] from Tanta University, Egypt and his PhD [1996] & MD [1998] from the Post-Graduate Institute of Cardiology Department, Tanta University School of Medicine, Egypt. He was a Research Fellow in Thorax Center, Rotterdam, Holland, Erasmus University in Stress Echocardiography Department on 2000/2001. He is a Cardiology Specialist and Faculty in Tanta University Hospital from 1991 until 1998. He also worked as Consultant Cardiologist -degree of Professor of Cardiology 1998-2015 [from the Supreme Council of Universities], Cairo, Egypt- law No. 115 (1993). He is a Clinical Fellow in Milano-Majore Policlinico, Milan, Italy 2007 in cardiac cath. He is a Lab and Partner clinical Fellowship and visitor physician at University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA in 2011. He received a price of Young Investigator Award from Egyptian Society of Cardiology on 1999 & 2001. He has many famous international publications to his credit.

Biography
Costas Tsioufis was born in Greece in 1963. He graduated in Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1987 and obtained his PhD from the same university in 1997. His postgraduate medical training in Cardiology and Hypertension was first at the University of Athens, Greece and later at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA. Currently, he is Associate Prof. of Cardiology, University of Athens, Hippocratio Hospital, Athens, Greece and Head of the Hypertension Unit of the same institute. In the clinical field, the topics of his competence are hypertensive disease and interventional cardiology. The last 5 years he has a special interest for the novel interventional therapies of hypertension and he is involved in major clinical trials regarding renal sympathetic denervation. He is also Secretary of ESH and Elected President of Hellenic Cardiology Society. He has published 229 papers in peer-review journals mainly in the areas of hypertension, atherosclerosis, and interventional cardiovascular disease.

Nerio Zabala has his expertise in adult cardiology and internal medicine. His stint as a former Training Officer in the Department of Medicine led him to use the process of debriefing to encourage training residents to Identify avenues for their own career development. The residency training program is a product on the output of all stakeholders. An active consultant of the Philippine Heart Center, Far Eastern University Medical Center. Currently the chair of the Department of Medicine of Victoriano Luna Medical Center.

Samer Ellahham has served as Chief Quality Officer for SKMC since 2009. In his role, Dr. Ellahham has led the development of a quality and safety program that has been highly successful and visible and has been recognized internationally by a number of awards. As Chief Quality Officer and Global Leader, Dr. Ellahham has a focus on ensuring that that implementation of this best practices leads to breakthrough improvements in clinical quality and patient safety. Dr. Ellahham is the recipient of the Quality Leadership Award from the Global Awards for excellence in Quality and Leadership and the Business Leadership Excellence Award from the World Leadership Congress. He was nominated in 2015 for SafeCare magazine Person of the Year. He did his fellowship in Cardiology at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in USA. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Ellahham worked in Washington DC in several clinical and leadership positions before moving to UAE in 1988. He led the First AHA GWTG Heart Failure Initiative outside US and was the recipient of the AHA GWTG Award in Wash. DC. His clinical passion and expertise is in the field of heart failure management. He demonstrated great skill and experience in the management of patients with heart failure and led a multi-disciplinary team in the care and delivery of advanced therapies to these patients. He has unique abilities to partner and engage local and regional referring providers. He is able to work in a highly matrixed environment, possess strong leadership and organizational skills and have experience to working effectively in a large health system.

Telmo Pereira is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Coimbra Health School, Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, Portugal, and is the Head of the Physiology Department. With a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology – Neurosciences, by the University of Coimbra, in the last five years has developed research in the areas of Cardiovascular Prevention and Neuroscience, and has also collaborated in the development of new non-invasive technology options for the assessment of vascular function. The research output comprises above 50 scientific articles published in journals with impact factor, several book chapters, more than a hundred communications in national and international conferences, with publication of the respective Abstracts in prestigious scientific Journals. The study of Vascular function accounts for a large proportion of his research outputs currently. Awarded two Young researcher prizes for best communication in International Meetings, four best research communication awards in National Meetings. Invited reviewer of prestigious International Journals.
